Emily Beatrice Bland was a British artist best known for her landscapes, floral still lifes, and impressionistic paintings. Born in Lincoln, England, in 1864, she studied at the Lincoln School of Art before continuing her training at the Slade School of Fine Art in London under influential teachers Henry Tonks and Frederick Brown.
Bland became a respected figure in the British art world, exhibiting regularly at the Royal Academy and the New English Art Club, of which she became a member in 1926. Her work often captured quiet rural scenes, coastal views, and delicately arranged flowers with soft colour and light. In 1922, she held a solo exhibition at the Leicester Galleries in London.
Her paintings are now held in several public collections, including the Tate Gallery. Emily Beatrice Bland died in London in 1951, leaving behind a body of work associated with English Impressionism and early twentieth-century British painting.
