Achille Luciano (or Lucien) Mauzan (1883–1952) was a French-born illustrator, painter, sculptor, and one of the most influential poster designers of the Art Deco era. Born in Gap, France, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon before moving to Italy in 1905.
Mauzan became renowned for his vibrant, humorous, and highly expressive advertising posters. His bold use of colour, caricature, and visual storytelling helped redefine modern advertising graphics.
In the late 1920s he moved to Buenos Aires, where he founded the publishing house Affiches Mauzan and produced many of his most celebrated works. After returning to France in the 1930s, he continued working in advertising before devoting his later years primarily to painting. Today, Mauzan is regarded as one of the leading poster artists of the early twentieth century and a key figure in the development of Art Deco graphic design.
