Ubaldo Cosimo Veneziani was an Italian painter, engraver, illustrator, and poster artist born in Bologna and active primarily in Milan. After studying at the prestigious Accademia di Brera, he developed a successful career as a fashion illustrator, book designer, and commercial artist. His illustrations appeared in countless magazines, and he created notable book covers for publishers such as Edizioni Alpes, including works by Alberto Moravia.
Veneziani exhibited at the National Art Exhibition held at Brera in 1917, where he showed works including Tulipani, Viaggi fantastici, and I taxi. During the 1920s and 1930s he was active as a painter, printmaker, illustrator, and poster designer, producing both artistic and advertising works. Later in life, he moved away from commercial advertising to focus more fully on art and design.
Today, Veneziani is remembered for his elegant graphic style and his contributions to Italian illustration, printmaking, and poster art during the first half of the twentieth century. He died in Milan in 1958.
