Described as “the new Andy Warhol”, Jason John “JJ” Adams has rapidly become one of the UK’s most discussed and collectible artists. Raised in Cape Town, the son of a Baptist preacher, Adams moved to the UK in 1998, working as freelance graphic designer and sign maker before finally breaking into fine art. JJ Adams uses a range of mixed media in his work from spray paint to hand painting acrylics, screen printing and digital matte painting as well as photography. He is best known for his ingenious manipulations of celebrity and iconic landmark images. Here he tinkers with Barry Lategan’s famous 1966 photograph of Twiggy.
