Born on 24 February, 1874 in Aubervilliers, Georges Conrad was a French illustrator. Son of a valet de chambre, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Active between 1900 and 1935, he illustrated numerous books for the Hachette and Fayard editions, as well as for theĀ Journal des voyages.
He illustrated over 100 postcards. He was a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Rouen and an officer of public education. He resided for a time in Val-de-la-Haye where he remarried in February 1936. He died at his home on 7 December 1936, 29 boulevard des Belges in Rouen.

Georges Conrad’s work has been offered at auction multiple times, the record price for this artist being 2,094 USD for Lot de Dessins sold at Millon in 2022.
