Georg Hambüchen was a German landscape, marine and portrait painter of the Düsseldorf School. The son of the landscape and marine painter Wilhelm Hambüchen, Georg began training at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Düsseldorf at the age of 15. From 1918 to 1923 he then studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy leaving as a master student of Carl Eder. Like his father, Hambüchen was a member of the Malkasten Artists and is viewed as one of the key exponents of Rhinish Impressionism.
