Born in London, the son of a violinist who was killed in the First War, George Kennerley was a self-taught artist and collector. He first worked in advertising at Selfridge’s but soon became involved in the Liverpool business world which eventually led to him becoming managing Director of Vernons Pools. During World War II he ran factories involved in munition manufacturing but all the time indulged his gift as a painter. ‘Ken,’ as he was known exhibited at the RA, Leicester Galleries, Crane Kalman Gallery and with the Arts Council of Great Britain.
