PIERRE JOURDA (1931-2004)
Oil on Canvas

POA
Born in Montesquieu-Volvestre in the Haute-Garonne, the son of a mason, Jourda was a gifted student and was, at 15, accepted to the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Toulouse. He subsequently studied modern art before becoming an art historian, scholar and teacher.
His artistic career went unadvertised and unnoticed until his death in 2004 when a huge cache of some 900 works were discovered at his home.
The text here translates as a piece of Eric Cantona-esque poetry.
