Sir Edwin Henry Landseer was an English painter and sculptor, famous for his paintings of animals – particularly horses, dogs, and stags. However, his best-known works are the lion sculptures at the base of Nelson’s Column.
Edwin Landseer’s work has been offered at auction multiple times, the record price being 2,028,874 USD for Death of the Wild Bullsold at Christie’s London in 2003.
