POA
A sculptor whose work extends into photography, film and painting, Jason Shulman’s work is frequently occupied with themes of analgesia, loss and the delusiveness of perception. Utilising optics and other simple scientific methods, he brings an atmosphere of experimentation to his absorbing photographic prints, pen-and-ink and mixed-media works, exposing the falsehoods that underpin our everyday experience of the physical world.
Group exhibitions include ‘Daydreaming With Stanley Kubrick’, Somerset House, London (2014); ‘Out of Our Heads’, Shoreditch Town Hall, London (2014); La Maison Rouge, Paris (2013); The Wand, Berlin (2013); MONA, Tasmania, Australia (2012); The Rachofsky House, Dallas, Texas, USA (2011) and White Cube Gallery (Hoxton), London (2008). His work was also presented at Photo London, Somerset House, London (2017) and the Third Moscow Biennale, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2009). Shulman’s work is included in public institutions and foundations including MONA and David Roberts Art Foundation.
Jason lives and works in London.
